Site Investigation
Site investigations are developed around the site, the proposed use and the information required. Work may include desk-based review, site inspection, targeted ground investigation, interpretation of findings and clear reporting. Drone-assisted inspections may also be used where appropriate.

Designing a coherent and logical site (or ground) investigation is a critical element of any development scheme or failure investigation. Whilst we typically undertake intrusive investigation work with trusted Contractor partners we ensure that the work specified is safe, achievable given any site constraints (access, 3rd party interfaces etc.), fit for purpose, and sufficient.
Geotech Nicholls can offer full-time supervision of critical elements of such site work, and produce the required interpretive and / or design reports. Our Director has in excess of 40 years experience of the full range of ground investigation techniques including the common place methods of trial pit excavation and borehole drilling as well as less frequently specified in-situ testing (CPTs, dilatometers, pressuremeters), monitoring (groundwater, displacement, topographic, inclinometers, etc.), geophysical investigations and laboratory testing.
